The Global Summit, hosted by education.au, provides educational leaders, thinkers and teachers with the opportunity to discuss and debate the following key issues:
- elearning and the younger generation
- emerging trends in a connected world
- why we are still doing the same old things in education
- measuring effective teaching in the knowledge era
- skills required to function in the knowledge era.
A panel of speakers will act as provocateurs to stimulate discussion at the Global Summit. The speakers include:

- Robert Cailliau – Co-Developer of the World Wide Web
- Charles Jennings – Global Head of Learning, Reuters
- George Siemens – Red River College in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

- Leigh Blackall – Educational Development, Otago Polytechnic, NZ
- Professor Judyth Sachs – Pro-Vice Chancellor (Teaching and Learning), University of Sydney
